Musical Director - Jim Davies
 Jim Davies was born in the small village of Ynyshir in the Rhondda Valley in South Wales.
He began playing cornet at the tender age of nine winning many prizes throughout his youth including Champion Soloist of Wales.
He played principle cornet for many Welsh bands before being appointed principle cornet of the Cory Band, a position he held for over 16 years.
During this time the band won many prizes which included the European Championship and no less than four National Championship titles. More was to follow for Jim as he enjoyed a further decade of successes as principal cornet of the world famous Brighouse and Rastrick Band.
Jim has been in great demand as a soloist throughout his career and has made many performances on TV and radio. He has performed in most of the major concert halls throughout Britain as well as tours of North America, Russia, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, Holland, Denmark, Belgium and Germany.
In 1997 he released Evergreen his solo CD celebrating 30 years as a principle cornet player of Championship Section Bands. The same year he gained his Master's Degree in Advanced Musicology at Leeds University and was subsequently employed as a curriculum music teacher there. Jim currently teaches together with his wife at Ackworth School, Pontefract.
Jim is now in demand both as a conductor and adjudicator.
