Recordings

The Yorkshire Imperial Band has a long history of successful recording contracts.  Here are some of the historic albums the band is proud to have produced. The band first built up a reputation for producing quality recordings under the name of the Band of the Yorkshire Imperial Metals and has continued to do so ever since.

In the past the band has produced recordings with record labels such as CBS (USA), Decca, Doyen and for the BBC.

The band is proud that it’s recordings although infrequent have always been of a very high quality and highly regarded by brass enthusiasts.  On several occasions the band has made recordings of pieces for the very first time which has added a rarity to the albums but also imposed the Imps sound to the tracks involved.

Recording projects have always been great fun to work upon although it can be a very tiring and time consuming process.  Band members always enjoy the event and the challenge as it is often a great social event where teamwork is demanded from every single member.

Below are some of the albums produced to date.  Many are sadly unavailable but can be often found on auction and collector sites like eBay where sometimes they go for quite considerable sums of money.  Below is an excerpt of the band’s signature march “Yorkshire Imperial”.
