Leicestershire Association Contest

Ratby Co-operative came out on top at the Leicestershire BBA Contest held on Sunday, retaining their ‘Leicester Open’ title for the second successive year.

Ratby Co-operative Senior, under the direction of Mike Fowles, took first prize in the Open Section with their performance of ‘Dances & Alleluias’, beating Thoresby Colliery and Kidlington Concert. The award for ‘Best Instrumentalist’ was presented to their solo euphonium by adjudicator Alan Morrison.

Imps had to be content with a fourth place finish and although the performance was a good one it was not enough to catch the audjudictaor’s ear.
